I have almost 7 pages of apps/games and misc. When i started, i had a page for each category (home screen, games, misc apps, utilities, web bookmarks).
I now have to scroll through 7 pages to access apps. Gets old after a while.

Is there a way to set up a category system to keep on the dock instead of flicking through all 7 screens? I have read about ways to do this with a JB iPod, but I have the new iTouch, so no JB yet.

I just might have to be patient and wait for a JB to come out before this happens.

    Thanks for the help!

If your jailbroken then there's an app in Cydia where you can have folders for your applications. Well, I guess not since your profile says you have a 3g Touch.

Once the jailbreak for the 3G is released, you can download an app in cydia called 'Categories'. You can set up folders and put the apps and games in them, cleans up the springboard nicely

Thanks for the info "cOde" & "bobby".

The more searching i do i realize this isn't possible for a non-JB iPod.
Do you know if these folders can be placed on the dock?

"THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!" LOL (sorry, couldn't resist.)

Thanks for checking. I am stoked for the 3.1-JB.

after you jailbreak and get catagories, there will be a new version of "stacks" coming out for the 3.0 firmware, look it up, but its better than catagories because you can open the stacks faster,(why not make a stack of catagories?) and in the new 3.0 version you can make multiple stacks and put them anywher on the spring board (again look it up)

You can put it anywhere you want; treat it like an app that you can place anywhere in your springboard. You can even make Folders within folders. Note, that it will slow down your device a little, even for stacks (your in 3G Touch, so it'll be faster).
