my ipod was jailbroken and i had the settings icon in a folder from the categories app and i backed up all the apps with apptbackup or something like that ( also in a different folder). than i upgraded to 3.0 and jailbroke the 3.0, than the problem is that since categories is no longer installed on my ipod, i cannot turn on wifi, so i cant restore the apps with cydia,
    any advise rather than restoring?

i had the exact same problem.

you need to do a restore again but when it asks you if u want to use existing settings you have go no and create a new ipod profile. Then it should have all the original apps back.

Bad idea if you wanna keep ur files. the same thing happend to me all you have to do is download sb settings from cydia and go to more from there select hide apps and click on for all of them. this should work it did for me.
