I have a Clarion head unit in my car. There isn't a input jack on the front of my Clarion but in the features list it does say it includes a 2-channel RCA AUX input. So would I simply need a stereo RCA to 3.5mm cable?

So here's what I'd like to do, I want a 3.5mm input jack installed somewhere on the bezel around my Clarion. So when I want to listen to my iPod all I need to do is plug a cable from the headphone out of the iPod to the input jack.

    What do you guys think?

dont get signal from headphone jack. get the line-out signal from the dock connector, line-out signal gives better sound quality than headphone jack does. I got myself this iPod Dock Connector To 2 RCA Cable. it sounds 100 times better than signal from headphone jack

You can also get dock connectors with rca out, and 12 volt in, so it charges your ipod too.

Yeah that would be much more efficient too. IT would be nice to have it charge while you were on the go.

the best way to do it is get a deck that is made for iPod. I love mine. Works just like a click wheel iPod, only using the volume knob. Mostly though, I have it on shuffle, and just skip songs. Best part is, I leave it in the glove box, away from stealing eyes.
