Pretty much just that, I try to update to 4, on my iPhone 3.1.3 3GS leads to it extracting something, then erroring telling me that there's not enough space to update. There's 229MB free on / and over 2 gigs on /var. If this has to do with system space, how would I reduce some of it before updating?

The phone is jailbroken (I already backed up my cydia apps

Well what gen what Is your space memory and I consider with experience and lots of tutorials dissassemble your iPod to check to see all the tech specs are good and in place. I do not take any responsibility whatsoever for anything that happens to your device during this process best regards on your quest to update maddenpatriotd9

Sorry to double post, but it wont backup. it says someting along the lines of "iPhone wont backup because iphone wont backup"

So I can't even DFU and keep my settings

    .

i have never compressed the partitions, and I shouldn't need to dissasemble my iPhone.

I have enough space on /, right?

Little update--tried on a different computer and it worked. Might as well say that. Yeah, sorry for bumping.
