Hello all. New to the forums (obviously) I've been looking around online, and some on this forum for some help. but the topics I've seen don't directly answer my question.

my problem is videos won't sync to my ipod, in fact they won't even add the library when i click file add file to library then click the file. it's in mp4 format. so i'm clueless. any help is appreciated. if you know more than one solution please list them all. i really appreciate any help in advanced. if there's anything i left out that might affect this please ask me and i'll happily give any additional information needed.

the mac forums failed me. i hope you guys can help me. also i'm running on vista is that matters at all. thanks a ton guys!

What program are you using to covert the video (if any)? I recommend HandBrake. It is great and even has a preset option for the iPod touch, so it will convert the video properly.

Also try converting it to m4v format as that is what I do and it works every time.

That most likely means the file is not in the proper format. Try what I suggested; I didn't post it for no reason.

I know that. I wasn't trying to come off rude. It's just that I've already tried that. I tried that program you recommended as well for the format, and still, to no avail. To make this easier I'll now list all the things I've already tried.

    1) Uninstall/Reinstall iTunes.

    2) Use program/s to make sure the video is in the proper format.

    3) Click File>Add File to Library> Selected file that was formatted.

No matter what I've done every time I try to add the file to the library nothing happens. It doesn't go into the library. I tried dragging and dropping it onto my iPod and it says it can't play that type of file. Which makes no sense because I used programs to format it to be the proper type.

I hope this information will help in trying to resolve this. Again, I truly appreciate any help I get. I love this iPod touch, but it truly annoys me I'm not able to use every function of it. I mean c'mon, who doesn't want to watch porn at work. (j/k)

edit: I retract my statement. Handbrake was the program that I would do the following

    Click Source
    Click Video File
    Select desired file
    Click Browse
    Select my Desktop
    Click Start
    Go to my Desktop
    No file

Hopefully I was doing something wrong.

Tried again with a different destination. It created a file, it was only 24kb it said it was mp4 format however. I know the original file wasn't so small and was a real video file. Then when I tried to drag and drop it onto my iPod in iTunes it said It could not be added because it couldn't be played by this iPod, or something along those lines.

Again any help and I will love you forever, and ever.

In HandBrake on the right side should be a list of presets; double click "iPod touch/iPhone" then click start.

Never noticed that until now. Giving that a try. Unfortunately I have a new problem. Safari won't work. I restored to factory defaults (lost all my music) and it still doesn't work. I'm going to make a post about that now.

I'm really regretting getting the iPod touch. So far it's been mainly head aches. There were lap tops on sale for only 100$ more, but I figured the iPod fits in my pocket, so it'd be worth it. I figured wrong
