cant sync because it thinks its a mobile device! help!

    so, when i plugged my ipod in now to sync it, it said

    "This iPod cannot be used because the Apple Mobile Device service is not started."

    Can someone please help me! Ive synced my ipod before but now it doesn't work. someone please help.

    I think it's not your iPod that is the problem. It might be your computer and iTunes. Apple Mobile Device usually runs in your computer, hidden, if you either plug in your iPod or open up iTunes. Try pluging off you iPod from your computer. Close all programs tuen restart your computer. Now try connecting your iPod again to iTunes. It should recognize it and able to sync. If this doesn't help, try reinstalling iTunes. If you still experiencing problems, plug your iPod to a different computer. If it does the same thing then there is wrong with your iPod.

    not the uninstall itunes but wont it delete all my videos and stuff???

    I don't think it will delete all your videos, songs etc... but just to be careful, you can backup the data first before uninstall...

    Either you have an external HD or just use a simple copy of iTunes folder and its contents to something else...

    do you think it might be something mobile i installed on my ipod? like if i was to restore it back to factory mode, do you think itll work then?

    Maybe you have installed apps which are meant for an iPhone instead of an iPod...
    If you do, maybe you need to uninstall that apps first.... Let's see what happens...
