So I was going to remove all my podcasts from my iPod Touch to make room for some more music and apps, so I unchecked the "Sync Podcasts" box in iTunes. However, some of my podcasts still synced to my iPod, and it turns out they were the "unplayed" podcasts. They are currently taking up 3 gb on my iPod, so I really need to get them off.

I decided to manually delete them on my iPod Touch (slide left, press "Delete"). After deleting all of them and re-syncing with iTunes, despite the "Sync Podcasts" box being unchecked, iTunes began syncing all my unplayed podcasts back to my iPod. How do I get rid of them??

Have you got any podcasts in a playlist that you might be syncing?

Check the Music/Video Tabs and make sure nothing to do with podcasts is being synced through there. Also, If you downloaded the podcasts through the iTunes Music Store app, that might be why.
An altrenative, although possibly annoying, is to Un-check all the podcasts in iTunes, and then check "Only Sync Checked Items" on your iPod Sync Page.

I downloaded the podcasts through iTunes on my computer...and I don't associate my music/videos with podcasts, so that can't be it.

I would normally do that, but I have over 100 of them

I'll just go mark all my podcasts as "played", to see if that works. Thanks for your help anyways

    OK, good luck.
BTW, you can check/un-check multiple items at once.
