I got a white slider for my 2G yesterday. Now I can't take the big part off. Any suggestions? I don't want to break it off either...

you pull the little part near the home button off and then just pull the big part off. it is stuck or something. cause if u got it on u should know how to get it off. did it feel funny when u put it on.

No, it slid in fine. I've tried putting a key up where the sleep button is to try and push it out, that didn't work...

    Nope.

    NVM, I got it off.

What I did was take an outlet plug extender and lay it flat on a table. Use one of the straight parts of the plug and press it against the chrome bezel beside the sleep button and it came off. It took some force though and the top of the slider was a little damaged.

I was able to remove it without damage

I have a black Incase slider.
    1. Placed thick rubber band over the sleep button
    2. Pressed against the chrome area that surrounds the sleep button using a dull part of a letter opener.
    3. At the same time holding the sides of the slider with my other hand.

    Removal

Took me three days to get up the courage to take it off after I tried the first time and almost squeezed so hard on the screen it broke.

After trying different ways to take it off i liked this one the most, no stabbing your ipod or rubber band required just a little muscle

    1. Take off bottom piece
    2. grab the side of the case with the volume rocker
    3. Push it away from the case while holding onto the ipod
    4. Muscle it till the volume rocker is half way out of its hole in the case
-it should have pulled the top of the ipod away from the top of the case just enough to see the silver backing where it meets the screen glass.
    5. Use your thumbs to push the ipod down using the sleep button hole
-it should have separated enough for you to use your thumbs to pull the ipod out of the case from the top.

I have the black one, just take the bottom off pull the iPod itself out of the case, dont be afraid to use a little muscle.
