Hi all, I hope someone can help. I lost Cydia after running redsnow to 'fix' a few nagging problems with my touch 2g. When I tried to reinstall it through Icy I received an error that read...

    "setuid: Operation not permitted
    setgid: Operation not permitted
dpkg: reguested operator requires superuser privilege"

I think only one word fits at this point: HUH?

Anyone know what is going on, what a set'uid' and a set'gid' are and finally what the hell is a 'superuser' and how do I become one? Do I need some super iTouch powers and be able to leap tall buildings in a single bound?

    Thanks in advance!

Yeah. That would be in MobiTerm. He is in Icy. Download this Cydia deb here (not sure if it's the latest version) and SSH it into /var/root/cydia.deb (rename it for easier purposes). Then in MobileTerminal, type in this (each line is separate):
    Code:
    su root
    [password is alpine]
    cd ~
    dpkg -i cydia.deb

And it should install. Let me know if there is any problem.

P.S. superuser is like the root user that has all the privelages and is unlimited. The superuser on your iPod is root.
