My iPod 2G is already jailbroken (tethered) and perfomed reboot several times now.
After installing an app, my ipod restarted and I did the reboot process of putting it in DFU mode.
Everything is fine until the apple logo appears and nothing happens. The ipod will return to the state as if it was turned off or restarted.
Everytime I try to iTunes restore or re-jailbreak, I got a "The ipod could not be restored. An unknown error occured. (1601)" message appears.

I already tried every possible solution I can think of but to no avail, any suggestion?

    TIA!

    halp?

And. Try Holding Shift and then clicking Restore. To locate the file in VISTA.

Make sure you can see hidden files.

You need to shift and restore the custom firmware again.

Yeah, you have to have a white screen.

Also make sure you are in dfu mode. You must hold home and power for EXACTLY ten seconds and then just hold home until recognized by computer.

Yeah, don't let go of home until your computer recognizes it.
A bunch of people say 10 seconds, but that doesn't always work, so just hold it.

Got it, I just used a different USB port and it worked like a charm.
    Thanks for the help though!
