    Greetings.

I have an 8GB iPod Touch 1G with firmware 1.1.5 and I have tried jailbreaking it with iLiberty, Ziphone, but still can't get it to work. I have iTunes 8.0.2.20 and whenever I try to restore an old firmware using iTunes I get the following error: The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error ocurred (1602).

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

the problem is you have the itunes 8.0.2 which is the latest version.

only firmware 2.x can be restored on itunes 8.

if you want to restore your firmware 1.1.x, you should have itunes 7.

how to downgrade itunes? search here in the forums.

Upgrade to 2.2. Even if you do manage to jailbreak 1.1.5, all of the old Installer repositories are gone so you won't be able to install anything. If you don't want to pay for 2.2, Google is your friend.
