hey, hope someone can help im freaking out here.

    Error message coming up saying
'Could not proceed past 2.1.1 iBSS' when i try to go into DFU mode.

A little backround. I haven't downloaded 8.2 on itunes (not sure if its ok to). At the moment I am semi thethered through redsn0w. My facebook froze so i turned off the phone & now everytime I do the 10seconds on both and 10seconds on the home button its not working.
When I plug it it the connection is showing up as USB device not recognized. I have went into DFU a million times so I'm well used to the timing but its not making a noise on my computer (which is windows xp)

Really hope someone can help me. . . any help is appreciated. Went through the site looking for help ..

    Try it on a mac.

Makes sure it is completely turned off (home & power for 10 seconds)

    Plug it into a mac.
    Do DFU.

Macs seem to have more support for Apple devices.

try using an older version of itunes,

also make sure the timings are exact! use a timer if you have to

    Just an update.
Im still looking, nothing coming up on the screen. orig when i was trying to get out of facebook the home button was making the screen blink rather than leaving facebook.

    &
I tried this from another topic
why dont you just connect your iphone to your computer then, click on the start up menu, click run and then copy and paste the dfu manually. heres the file:http://www.sendspace.com/file/93fx93. download that file that extract it to your c drive. afterwards copy and paste this:c:/dfu/dfu iBSS.m68ap.RELEASE.dfu in the "run" menu. it works for me all the time

and I tried every version of home & power button known (there's about 5 ways)
