i have read the tutorial posted on this forum on how to jailbreak my ipod touch 2nd generation 3.0. after downloading redsn0w and following the steps so far, i got to the step where you need to find this update file. i have searched my computer many times now for this file but i have not been able to find it and can therefor, not install the jailbreak. does anyone know where to find the file....? i checked the location stated in the tutorial. but that location does not exist on my computer. any help would be awesome.

(PS: i use vista, if that changes anything)

Well this update file is the firmware for the 3.0 software. I would post it if I could but that is illegal on the forums. Was this where you looked:
    C:\Users\*USERNAME8\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Software Updates

appdata is probably a hidden folder on vista.

you can type %appdata% into the search bar and it should pop up with the Roaming folder listed.

easier way to get it without unhiding folders etc.

Yeah, it is. You can unhide stuff really easy though.
