hi im trying to jailbreak my Ipod touch 1G, currently running 3.1.1 im happy to downgrade but as of yet ive been unsucessful. i have tried many ways to enter DFU mode with no success. i have tried everything with it both plugged into computer and unplugged from computer.

i have been told to press the home button and the sleep/power button whilst the ipod is turned on but all that happens is the ipod displays the slide to power off thingy then goes into sleep mode, without restarting. secondly i have tried turning it off then holding the home and power/sleep button for ten seconds but strangely the ipod turns on too fast (as if it knows im goin to swtich it on) anyway i wait 10 seconds then release the power button but still holding the home button and all that happens is the ipod starts up as normal itunes also recognises it as normal.

iv have recently restored my ipod to factory 3.1.1 settings to see if tht fixed it but with no look.

im currently windows 7 if the helps

please help me i realy want to jailbreak

thanks but that didnt work. if you watch tht video in the link you provided the iphone switches off after holding the home and power button for 10 seconds. my ipod isnt doing that instead it shows the slider thingy but doesnt switch off, just goes into sleep/lock mode.

It might be a problem with your buttons.
    Are you sure they work?
