You should check ALL the trheads written about how to get a successful downgrade 1.1.3 @ 1.1.1 to jailbreak -me.com- and upgrade 1.1.1 @ 1.1.2 @ 1.1.3 Jb.
While downgradin, remember to boot from recovery mode, pressing home and power btms utill the screens turns off an then release the power but until itunes recognizes it with the SCREEN OFF NOT THE CABLE IMAGE so yo6u can shift click on restore and chosse the ispw file. Then it gets easeyer.
Another tip: if you`re still getting errors you should verfy the Ipod original firmwares you`ve downloaded, cose i had problems with that too.
for example iPod1,1_1.1.1_3A110a_Restore not 109a wich is for iphone and the 1.1.2 that i first downloaded was corrupt -giving me that kind of errors-, not the second.
    Good luck.

Try restarting your computer or downgrading on another computer. I had the same problem and that fixed it.

in your ipod, go to settings and then do the "reset all settings" option. then try it. or try reinstalling itunes.
