I can't boot my iPod, it's tethered Jailbroken, and I have booted into DFU mode, I get the "not recognized" error and I've got libusb(comp. mode with xp sp2) and I'm running Win7. I don't have iTunes installed (problem?) and when I try booting my iPod into DFU mode I hear the duh doo (unplugged usb) but I don't hear a duh duh (plugged usb) instead I hear a doo doo doo (unsure?)

a lot of sounds there eh.
Sometimes the 2nd sound doesnt go.
Try just to boot to make sure you didnt hear the 2nd sound, but it did happen.

Well first off I would definitely recommend you install iTunes. Secondly, you should try to go into dfu mode and restore if you contnuously have software related problems.

Another thing might be that your not holding the buttons long enough. Try a DFU mode helper if your unsure about when to release the sleep button.

You need iTunes for the DFU Drivers

Yeah, I think I've got it, it was iTunes.. I had to install it, I don't know if it fully works, but I know it tried to use irecovery, because I got the "iRecovery.exe closed" error, but that's probably because I was still installing iTunes..

And I know know know know know know know know know know know how to boot successfully into DFU mode.....
