I've looked around and it seems that people are able to join a network but cannot reach the internet.

I, however, cannot join my home network at all unless I have the iPod right next to my router, which even then sometimes will not connect. The odd thing is, is that it used to be able to connect anywhere in the house and I tested another iPod and it was able to connect anywhere, yet mine refuses now. I have no security or anything on my router. Could I have just damaged the device somehow? I am also wondering if something I downloaded through installer might have damaged it. Any ideas?

I would do an experiment to see if your touch is the root of the problem.

    1. Attempt to connect with a computer.
    2. Attempt to connect with a portable device, (PSP, ipod touch)
    3. Reboot router and modem.
    repeat steps 1 and 2.

if you have determined that the problem lies within your device, restore it and take it back to apple.

That is what I would do, but you might have a better idea.

As a last resort, you might want to uninstall some of your apps or even restore just to make 100% sure that it's not some software conflict or something...

Have you dropped or compressed your iPod unusually in the past few days?
