Icons need to be .icns files.

Where did you get the icon, or are you trying to make one yourself?

If you are making your own, grab a program called IconBuilder from the icon factory

    http://iconfactory.com/home

Also are you replacing manually or through CandyBar?

I don't think its an AppStore App. This is in the Leopard section and I missed it in the title but it says he's using CandyBar.

I think the best way if it is a homebrew icon and you are replacing through CandyBar would be to use the Icon Builder.

I've never tried making my own, all the ones I've had were downloaded as sets specifically made for CandyBar, so they went off without a hitch.
