i want to jailbreak my ipod touch(2.0) but i not sure what the draw backs are (so far all i know is that it slows it down and drains battery)

so i was wondering if there is anyway to undo a jailbreak and if ou do will it go back to normal completely? what are the major side effects?

    thanks in advance :3nod:

Just restore your ipod back to Apple's firmware.

its a bit more complicated than that. you have to uninstall itunes 7.7 then install itunes 7.5

then Make sure you have the firmware.ispw file you want to go back to. then shift+click restore back to that file, then upgrade back to itunes 7.7 if you wish...

the main drawback is you have to resync your entire music library to itunes all over again.

I'm pretty sure a jailbreak wont slow your iPod down or reduce battery life. And you can just restore your iPod

Is this a windows only thing cause I was able to restore with custom firmware on my mac without having to down-grade iTunes.

No its not a windows only thing. If your just restoring back to a regular 2.0 firmware you dont need to downgrade nor you cant since itunes 7.5 doesnt have firmware 2.0 support on it. If you wanna restore to 1.1.4 or below you need to be on 7.5 i believe.

ah I see this is only for downgrading to 1.1.4 firmware.
