    I've seen threads like:

but they don't really answer my question. I'm not worried about someone accessing my iTunes account, but rather that the iPod will stay activated under my account even though I don't have it any more.

My current iPod Touch is acting shoddy, it occasionally locks up and refuses to do anything, than I plug it into my charger and it freaks out, than I have to hard reset it. I'm thinking I'll just have to take it back to wal-mart and get another one.

You know how you can have 5 computers linked to your iTunes? Is this the same case with the iPods, where you can have x amount of iPods linked up to your account, than you can't connect any more? If so, how do you deactivate an iPod from your account?

    Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Also, if I create a backup of this iPod Touch, could I restore it onto the other iPod?

    Yes you can.

Plug your iPod into iTunes, and select the iTunes Store tab on the left. on the top right, is your account. click it, and in the popup, click signout. now sync your ipod.

Your iPod can now use another store account.
