Verbose mode is having the device booting, but showing all the processes in the background.

Instead of showing the bootlogo, the device prints its boot commands to the screen

People still talk about me here? Odd.

There was a way to do a NOR only flash on the 2G which would allow it to boot in verbose. But that couldn't happen until it was untethered. So, as of now, there is no verbose booting for iPod touch 3G. It'd be nice though, because I like verbose booting.

Whoops, I thought I was in the 3G section. Apparantly not.

I'd suggest asking MuscleNerd. He was the one who figured out the patch.

    Well

    1. It looks cooler than staring at an Apple for 2 minutes

    2. If something goes wrong during the boot, you can see it.

    1. Your right. Text going down the screen is so cool. :|
    2. Because that happens so often. :|

Really, there is absolutely no point in verbose mode on a mobile OS X device.
