My Friend tried it with Vnotes and It worked as he said.

And is there only 3 pins on the connector?

Also, can you just take the cellphone connector and re solder it with the 3 pin like the iphones? will that work?

so you're saying, you want to go and buy a $30 iphone headset, and then take apart your $300-$400 ipod, risk completely ruining it, just to use the iphone headset? when you could just as easily buy an ivoiceIII for $35, solder THAT, and use a normal PC headset instead...

As I understand it the line in pin's are in the spot where you put your USB cable... So no mics will work if they plug into your headphone jack...If you soldered the line in part of those headphones into the iPod dock they would work with VoIP

    Not quite.

I have my cellphone headset with a mic witch has a small cellphone connector. I would cut off the connection and put on a 3.5mm connection onto the end instead. There is no nesscecity to open my ipod.
