when you say you did everything, what exactly did you do?

Heres how I SSH to mine...

    1. Open Cydia, install OpenSSH
    2. Install Filezilla onto your PC (link)
    3. Open FileZilla, Click File --> Site Manager.
    4. Click New Site, and input the following:

    Code:
Host - Your iPods IP address
    Port - 22
Servertype - SSH File Transfer Protocol
    Logontype - Normal
    User - root
    Password - alpine
    5. Click connect.
    6. A warning should come up on your PC. Allow the connection and you should be good to go.

I would also recommend installing mobile terminal and changing your root and mobile passwords to something other than alpine. Let me know if you need a hand doing this.

    Hope that helps.

I do mine the simple way ^_^
get WinSCP and download open ssh on cydia. Now Open settings on your ipod and hit the blue circle with an arrow like this ">"
you should see your ip address. Open WinScp. Connect your ipod to your computer. Type the IP address in the HOST bar.
Type ROOT in the USERNAME bar. TYPE ALPINE in your PASSWORD bar. congrats, you just sshed your ipod ^_^

From what I have read (and experienced myself), WinSCP can sometimes be a little unstable...freezing etc

Thats why i use FileZilla. Plus, i find it easier, as i've been using it on my Pc for a few years now.

But yeh, give both a try, see which you like best.

    Good luck.
