    Hi, there
I can not restore my ipod touch (2nd gen).
I turn on the DFU mode and itune detect it. it appears like"
    Name: ipod
    capacity: n/a
    software version: n/a
    serial number: n/a

When I press restore and check, it pops up and says :software for this ipod is not currently available. Make sure you have the latest version of itune.(But I am running the 8.1).

when I try to restore with the "jailbreak" file, during the process, the connection disappears in itune and causes unknown error to stop the installation.
By the way, I have erased all the contents in the ipod touch by reseting it.
And now I can not get into the system.

Anyone know what happen to my ipod touch?

    Please.....,HELP....

use a different computer or try downloading the original firmware and shift+click restoring to that.

There is no need to make two threads on the same issue

just to let the OP know, its any firmware you have downloaded on your computer that is compatible with your ipod. not just "any firmware".

Download the original firmware. 2.2.1 or any you would like to restore to, shift click or command click and then choose the default/original firmware you downloaded.

And you can't just restore with the custom firmware. You have to do the jailbreak pre-process.

i just realized you made two post. all you need is one. but to let you know restoring to a original ipsw then using redsn0w .3 to jailbreak is what you should do if you want to use logome.
