In this case, we can connect iPod Touch to PC without AP.
Yes, the touch can connect to an ad hoc network.
The real question is, Can we connect ipod-to-ipod? Please Register or Log in to view images

you can if your ipods are on the same network and apache is installed on both ipods.
IpodT is able to connect to AdHoc networks (I use this method to connect to my laptop to acces the net at works becasue my company does not offer wireless network).
However, currently IpodT is not able to CREATE an AdHoc network... this is only a SW limitation from my point of view. This feature on IpodT is only relying on Apple or 3rd party developpers wish Please Register or Log in to view images
If you have a Windows Mobile device with HSDPA, WMWiFiRouter for WM5 or WM6 will create a mobile ad-hoc network that will turn your iPot into a high speed iPhone minus the phone. Obviously you still need your WM device in your pocket.
just hooked my T-Mobile Wing up with that WMWifiRouter and it works like a charm with the touch...
