I just bought iphone 3GS from ebay with 4.0.2 and i just found i cant jailbreak.unlock. since i already have at&t could i just pop in my sim card without unlocking? or will i get charged with 2 year contract?

Also is there anyway of downgrading to an earlier version of the 3GS even if it was never jailbroken. Thanks

Yea you could pop it out and transfer, as long as the card is for the iphone. If it's not I'm not sure. If you tried and it didn't work nothing bad would happen

And you cannot downgrade if it was never previously jailbroken because Apple has stopped signing the 4.0/4.0.1 firmware so without SHSH Blobs, no downgrade.
