    I have f*cked up my itouch 2g.
tried & searched & tried & searched for a way to get it to go into DFU mode but its not working . i've tried every home & power button known and nothings working so if anyone has any ideas on that its appreicated..

So is there a way to restore my itouch if its not responding to DFU mode?

im on the itouch 2g, semi thethered, xp system.

You need DFU for any tethered/semi-tethered booting.
The only explanation is that you're doing DFU mode wrong. Just follow the helper in Redsn0w.

i've put it in DFU mode a million times, & i followed the instructions & alternative instructions ..

the only thing i can think is that somethings f*cked in it .. i was on facebook before it turned it off and pressing home wasn't working so i turned it off. when i turned it off i couldnt turn it back on..

Then I don't know. DFU mode is always possible. You can't 'break' it.
Also, did you understand what a tethered Jailbreak was before you did it?

1.) First download the required archive: http://www.sendspace.com/file/93fx93
2.) Extract the archive to the root of your hard drive, should be C:/DFU/
3.) Connect your iPhone and ignore iTunes
    4.) Goto Start - run
    5.) Next type in “c:/dfu/dfu iBSS.m68ap.RELEASE.dfu”
6.) Wait for iPhone to show a “white” screen
7.) It should be in DFU mode now

    Home and sleep for 10
    Home for 10.
Make sure it's plugged up to a computer.
