I just got a replacement from the Apple store for my iPhone 3GS. It is the MB715LL model and has the firmware 3.1.3. The modem version is 05.12.01

Now, I attempted to jailbreak ( NOT unlock) the phone by using snowbreeze. After I generated the cracked firmware, I tried restoring using iTunes with it, but got the error 1600. Then, I tried using Redsnow with the 3.1.2 firmware and all, and the program got stuck at the "waiting for restart" sequence, with my phone's screen not on. I am now completely clueless as to how I can jailbreak my phone now. Any ideas?

Cannot jailbreak on 3.1.3 currently with your device.

Yeah and if you are still stuck, you will have to restore.

I thought that if I had the older bootrom ( non- MC model), then I can jailbreak?

That's with older iDevices; The MC/MB model situation.

Your iPhone 3GS won't jailbreak at the moment. Although, the news flying around is that a new jailbreak will be released at the end of April, it'll be giving all devices a jailbreak on 3.1.3 and hopefully 4.0 Beta 1.

Our developers for the jailbreak are being smart... they're not releasing it until the next beta comes out, so hopefully Apple won't find it's own loop hole.

Regardless, there will always be a way to jailbreak.

I think one jailbreak for the 4.0 beta was already released.

It was only so devs of jb apps can get their apps supported on 4.0 by release why would they waste an exploit on such an insignificant update like 3.1.3 when not that many people had the "state of mind" to update
