Just don't use Installer. It's a piece of crap with nothing good hosted in it. Use Cydia. All, and I mean all, of the good stuff is in Cydia.

If you want to downgrade from Installer 4 to Installer 3... there's no way to do so, since Installer 3 doesn't work with Firmware 2.x, and most all of the Installer 3 repos are dead. You can thank the Russians at rip.dev for your current Installer experience. At least it doesn't kill your iPod now when you install it, which is a step up from where it was a month or two ago.

Stick with the App Store or Cydia.

99 cents or free is too expensive? A lot of apps are under $4 in there.

... and what part of 'free' failed to pass the 'too expensive' part? There's a lot of Lite versions or free versions of apps in there, and many (I dare say most) of the 1.1.x programmers migrated to the App Store.

your missing out by moving to cydia on many of the good free apps.

Cube runner, cube, poker live, imob, the list goes on.
