    Noooo

VGA splitter is for showing the same video on two screens.

Is that a laptop or desktop?

You need two graphic cards (Or a Graphiccard with 2 SEPARATE exits). Then configure Windows to use 2 Desktops.

I don't think so, because the Graphics card is the last unit before the Monitor, and the PC identifies how many monitors there are by "asking" the graphic card(s)

A USB adapter will not be able to even maintain the framerate of a youtube video, i bought one before...

When you say slimline... the PCI slots on the case are the miniature version right?

I suggest something like that. I'm not sure about that particular model, but I know that some of those "specifically for secondary monitor use" screens have built-in graphics cards. Plus, the small size and power requirements of the monitor will make it less taxing on your system anyway.
