I am wondering if I jail break my iPod if apple can tell that it's jail broken if I restore it back to original settings, if I need to use the warrenty. But I also have the 2yr service plan from best buy where I bought it. So would it be alright to jail break my iPod. Thanks everyone!

They shouldn't be able to, unless there is a secrete tiny cam inside your ipod touch, that watches your every movement, and then apples watch it to see if you jailbroke your ipod touch.

No, can't tell if you jailbroke if you went back to official firmware.

DFU Or recovery restore because a normal restore leaves traces of it behind ( custom numeric battery, whatever u changed the "ipod" text to ect. ).

what if it was a failed jailbreak though?

Have the iPod unlocked. Hold the Power and Home Buttons for approx. 10 seconds. Let go of the Power button, but keep holding the Home button for at least 7 more seconds. Open iTunes. It will ask to restore. Do so.

There are many places around who don't give a damn if you JB your iPod because they don't work for apple and they can fix your iPod if something happens to it for a really cheap price.
