Hi, I have jailbroken my 2G in both the IPSW and the QuickPwn method and was wondering can the 1G be jailbroken in a similarly easy way, ie without restoring your iPod?

Or does the 1G have a different exploit that can't be done without an IPSW?

No you cant jailbreak an already jailbroken iPod. You have to restore first.

Sorry if I confused anyone (everyone :/)
I have jailbroken my iPod (2G) and I am not asking about it.

My sister has a 1G and I am just wondering if it is possible to jailbreak without a restore (as in restoring to a custom firmware with exploit+cydia pre installed.)

Sorry for the mistake, I suppose I was vague..

you can let QuickPwn(1G) do all the work. No restores. You'll keep your music and everything.

NO. When you jailbreak you ALWAYS want to restore first.

In theory, but it is MUCH safer to start from a fresh firmware.

    Quickpwn/Redsn0w 0.3

Same thing. Just Quickpwn in Command prompt format but only for 2g.
