Is it possible to make Categories cache the icons and background so there is no Loading screen? I recall it was possible in firmware 1.1.x.

Maybe you can background the categories folders and this would effectively keep them running shortening opening time?

Yes you can do that open the categories which you want to keep in the background and press the "i" on the bottom right and slide "keep resident" to on.
The load time is reduced to a great extent!!!
    Hope this helps

Uses RAM constantly though ... So I'm guessing the previous caching feature is non-existent? And I see no I ... just Changelog.

True!!! RAM usage is considerably more. You have to disable it or kill it using sb settings before running huge games!!!!
