I want to buy a mic, but I'm not comfortable putting in my personal info or spending money at a small, untested site. I dont mean to disrespect touchmods, but I would be much more comfortable buying from a site such as amazon or even ebay. Also, I dont use paypal, so I cannot purchase a mic unless I go through the hassle of creating a paypal account and depositing money. Is there any way I would be able to do this transaction through amazon or ebay? I am very much interested in the professional looking mic.

You can buy a touchmods microphone on eBay if you are lucky in your bidding. This is a 2nd hand touchmods microphone. I have nothing to do with this sale... just pointing out the auction for you.

Here is another one in black

Thanks for the quick reply. I am interested in the touchmods mic, especially knowing that buying it supports the project, but do you know if the griffin ikaraoke would work as well?

I don't know about the Griffin, but I very much doubt that it will work, as I think it would be well known in case it did work.

I dont believe this will work because the only audio in interface on the touch is the dock pins for audio in. Have you tried this?

And good point ridex...but maybe its undiscovered?

Edit: well I tried my Psp headset which is also a 3.5mm headset, but that didn't work... Are you saying that any 3.5mm headset should work, or just that specific one?

Ive done some research and found that with the headset you described, the mic/audio in is reported as not working due to hardware limitations. Does the mic work on your touch? Have you tried it with voip?

    LMAO

I bet that is his ebay posting.....

NO any mic WILL NOT work!

Just to teach you something real quick,

The 3.5 mm jack on the touch is OUTPUT ONLY.

It will NOT allow a mic or any other device to have input via the headphone jack.

    Thanks

That's what I read, and i expected that i was his ebay post. However, the seller did have high rep and has been selling since '01 so I wasn't completely sure...I would think a reputable person like that would not lie about his products.

    He's not lying.

He never said on his ebay auction, "You can use the MIC for the Touch."

He says that you can use the mic but doesn't specify for which ipod.

Read between the lines man.....READ BETWEEN THE LINES!!
