I recently found an iPod touch for sale on eBay. The description says it powers on but will not connect to iTunes. It's pretty cheap, so I was wondering whether I should buy it or not. Would a simple DFU restore do the trick?? I think it would, but what do you guys think??

If you don't mind taking the risk, then you might as well. If it is cheap.

It's about $5, but about $25 for postage (it's in the UK, I live in Australia)

$25 to australia is pretty good. If it doesn't work just sell it on.

Come on, who sells an iPod for $5 ? It's probably a scam.

Expect a rock in the mail. LOL

Haha, it seems like the seller is the kind of person that doesn't know what DFU is, and thinks it's broken so the only thing to do is sell it...

EDIT: Even if it is a rock, it's only $30

Yes, he doesn't know how to use Google but he knows how to list an item on eBay, use a PayPal account and ship things internationally. Puh-leease.

But yeah, I guess $30 for a plain (but English!) rock isn't so bad...

A diesel mechanic knows absolutely everything about diesel engines and components, but if you ask him to explain quantum mechanics, he won't have a clue.
Just because he knows those things doesn't mean he knows a lot about the iPod...
