Wait definitely, they are trying to bring their Macbook back.. remember those Mac vs PC ads on TV? yeah those are long gone to iPhone and iPad commercials..But they need to step up their laptop to new levels. Definitely will be a game changer IMO.
No, it won't be a game changer because 95% of the people in the market for a new laptop are not going to shell out $1,200 for one. Instead, they'll buy a $500 Toshiba and be done with it. The people who buy MacBooks are really programmers, photo/video editors/designers, Business/IT people, and some wealthy people. You don't buy a MacBook to surf Facebook and play flash games.
A lot of people are saying that the new Ivy Bridge processors are going to be leagues ahead of the Sandy Bridge processors which in fact is not true. If you take the time to see the comparison, Ivy Bridge only excels in the graphics department and has slight improvements in performance over Sandy Bridge. Sure newer is better, but this is not going from a bike to a car in terms of technology.
It's still better, and part of having a Mac for some people is just that, having the best. Plus, can't deny a newly designed MacBook Pro is a wallet opener too. However, I love the way the current MacBook Pro looks. Honestly, I'm a little skeptical on how Apple could make it more appealing; or maybe it's just the lack of imagination excessive consumption of alcohol instills upon my mind... Regardless, I have faith Apple will prevail in designing a fantastic new MacBook Pro, I'll be waiting.
The graphics improvement would be good for computers like the MacBook air that use integrated graphics.
I just bought a Macbook Air 13' and love it. should I have waited? is there a policy that if I buy a product and and a upgrade is out that they (bestbuy) will switch it out? will there be a hardware change? because I know I can get the new "Mountain Lion" download off the site, if thats the only upgrade that will come out. My Macbook Air is a 128, i5. for the price it was great.
Apple will give your money back within a certain amount of days, 14 or something. Your Air will last you a very long time, it's good. You can get the new Mountain Lion when it's available via the Software Update application on your MacBook Air. There will be a hardware change, but I'd say your Air will last you a good few years at least.
