Built in WIFI

    i got the new xbox 360 slim and was wondering what happened to the built in wifi. Doesnt that mean that if i dont have wifi around the house i can still play online?

    You need a router. If you don't then you cant do anything online. (unless you use a hard connection)

    Ya, I know but they made it sound like it literally had wifi built in, kinda likethe wii.

    The iPhone and ipod touch have wifi but it's useless unless you have. A router.

    Hm..I think you're very confused, sir. Because a device has Wifi doesn't mean that it can simply "get internet everywhere". To get Wifi, you have to have an internet provider (such as cable, dsl, etc.), then a router to connect to the internet wirelessly (WiFi), thus allowing you to connect to Xbox live.

    Not even the Wii has built in wifi. Because, quite frankly, it's impossible (unless you have a 3g or 4g connection, but I don't think that would be fast enough for gaming anyway).

    Yeah, i have a router that works, just wondering. So it has the wireless adapter installed in the xbox is what your saying?

    Yes. The wireless adapter is already in the new 360 slim. You just need a wireless network to connect to.
