Hi guys got my first touch yesterday, very happy with it apart from one thing, the built in speaker. When playing music the quality is very poor If i put the volume over About halfway.very distorted and crackly,as this is my first touch I'm not sure if they are all poor or I've got a bad unit? P.s this is with music from iTunes.

    Its pretty normal.

You're unit may be bad, though... Try returning it.

The built-in speaker on the iPod touch is terrible; its basically useless. Go ahead and get yourself some nice headphones is the best advice I can give you.

Yeah Apple didnt waste there money on putting a good speaker in the Touch. Because when you listen to music you only want your slef to hear it so you wear headphones. Get a nice pair. Like the Beats by Dr. Dre. They are worth every pennie.
