BSD Subsystem

    where can i find BSD Subsystem
    i looked in Cydia and installer and i cannot find it

    im tryin to connect to my ipod with WinSCP and its always saying that its timin out

    can somebody please help meee

    2G iPod touch
    All you need is Open SSH to connect to WinSCP. Download it through cydia and you should be fine.

    i have open ssh
    i did everything for the winsscp the alpine and the root the ip address
    and when i click on login
    i get
    Connection Timed OUt

    probably not a BSD Subsystem issue. Cydia doesnt even use BSD

    Cydia IS a BSD.

    SSH:

    Username: root
    Password: alpine
    Protocol: SFTP
    Port: 22
    IP: Settings>WiFi>Blue arrow next to network

    same problem

    i have the same problem too, connection times out after 10-15 secs. everything is setup correct in winscp but i don't have the bsd subsystem

    another myth making

    BSD subsystem is basic FreeBSD application set for shell, they originally part of FreeBSD and Darwin is build upon FreeBSD it don't need any code changes

    they missing in original because they are not needed in non-JB system.

    So if your shell works perfectly in shell app that means there problem is inside OpenSSH or Network

    It can take 45 seconds the first time you try to SSH into your device. Also, make sure you have turned on SSH on your iPod / iPhone. Just wait and be patient, don't close WinSCP.
