Since so many people are having trouble with this error when jb 1.1.4 with the ziphone method (using either ziphone or the bat file for jailbreaking), I'll start this thread to post only solutions to this matter.
    Here's what solved my problem:
Prior to jailbreaking with any of this methods, have a freshly restored ipod touch running 1.1.4 firmware (restored on a previous fw and then updated is recommended - check other threads on how to do this), and make sure you cancel every other running application (even the background ones, such as music players, hotsync, antivirus, explorer, etc., etc., in order to prevent any other running process to interfere with the jailbreak). Once checked this just jailbreak.
    Hope this helps.
feel free to post any other helping tip to get rid of this f·&%*ng error.
BTW this is for windows, and i'm actually running XP Pro SP2 on my PC.

Have to shut down the ipod touch completely, then disconnect the cable usb, keep pressing the home button and connect usb cable, when the iPod is starting itunes recognize it, and put on recovery mode

I tried this but was unable to surpass the bsd error, anyway that way it works if you cancel other running apps.
also, i forgot to mention that i did it having the ipod turned on, on the home screen, connected to the pc and connected to itunes.
as for the english for the spanish speakers...esta perfecto! yo soy de argentina y te entendi 100 puntos
