how long did you hold it for?
sometimes it takes long (like 10+ seconds)
if you cannot turn it off just use ZiPhone to kick it into restore mode then restore with iTunes
or you can kick it back to normal mode and re-jailbreak

this error occurs when you unplug your ipod from the usb cable during the ziphone jailbreak process

this is how to fix it:

1: disconnect your ipod from the usb cable
2: press and hold the power and home button untill your ipod turn off ( usually takes 10 seconds)
3: press and hold the home button for 5 seconds and ( while still holding the home button ) plug the usb cable back into your ipod ( and computer but you should have left the cable in your computer
4: your ipod will now be in restore mode.... restore it
    5: jailbreak ( optional )

i press and hold the power and home button more than 20s, but the ipod can't be off. Itunes didn't recognize the ipod, so can't use Ziphone, because ziphone not detect the ipod too.
    Any help?

    This is what you do.

    1) Hold Power & Home till it shuts off.

    2) Unplug Device

    3) Hold Home

    4) Plug in Device

    5) Open ZiPhone 2.6b <--Yes. (Version Matters)

    6) Boot into Normal Mode

Mac OS X - Go to the "Mode" drop down menu.

Windows - Go to the Advanced Features

    7) Select Normal Mode

    8) Now your iPod should be back to the Home Screen.

    ---TO JAILBREAK---

    9) Keep iPod Plugged in

    10) Fix/Clear NVRAM with ZiPhone 2.6b

Mac OS X - "File" menu

    Windows - Advanced Features

    ---WITH ZiPHONE---

    11a) Click iPod Touch

    ---WITH iLiberty---

    11b) Click "Free my 16GB"

    Thanks for reply me,
THe thing is, step 1 can't be done. I can't off the ipod. I hold both button for nearly 20-30s. But it can't off, the bsd root keep going appear. Hopeless, my case is strange, maybe because while jailbrake it, if plug to cable out.

Hold both Home & Power at the same time.

Yes, both button the same time. I did that action before, to reset the ipod, when it is normal.

That's odd. It should work. Keep trying and it should work.
