I can't SSH into my iPod Touch because of the way the network is setup here at my school. I really want to be able to still get into all the filesystems and stuff and can't wait 4 years

Select the Airport menu from the Menu Bar and select Create Network. This allows your mac to create an ad hoc computer to computer network. Your ipod can now join this network and you should be good to go.

This is assuming your mac has an airport card.

    Hi There,

I have a similar issue here at work. To get around this, I use a program called 'iTunnel'

This allows you to tether your iPod, and create a local address for your ipod to connect to, this completely bypasses whatever your network configuration is.

So for example, when I tether my iPod, I shut iTunes, and navigate to the iTunnel program on my desktop, and use a batch file within called 'Runtunnel.cmd' which simply maps the PC's local connection to the ipod via a specific port, in this instance, port 22.

That means using any SFTP program such as WinSCP, I can just connect to 127.0.0.1 port 22 to be able to see and mess with the files on my ipod/iphone.

Do a google search for 'iTunnel iPhone' to find the program
