There doesn't seem to be a better place to put this, since no applications requests forum exists. But is it possible for someone to make an app that allows you to use Google's browse by name feature from the address bar of Safari? Currently, if you type a word, Safari appends .com at the end and goes there. However, browse by name would sure speed things up, especially on a small iPhone/iPod Touch keyboard.

".com" is already a part of safari. Not that hard to tap it, you would think x3

Have you not used browse by name before?
Try getting Google Toolbar, or Fire Fox. Type something like "iphone" in the address bar. Do you go to iphone.com? No. So your little .com button does nothing. It goes to apple.com/iphone.
This is just an example of how the .com button is irrelevant.
