    Hey guys

    (first, my iPod is an 8gb, JB with blackra1n, bought 9 september 2009, MC model ("third" gen))

    I just noticed that since a day or two, my left ear doesn't work unless I put pressure on the plug (not a lot tho), no it's not my ear buds, I tested with 4/5 different and always the same problem (somewhere in the "hole" I believe)
    But my iPod is jailbroke (blackra1ned), so I need to restore it before I send it away to Apple. I'm actually running on 3.1.2, once I'll get it back repaired (hopefully they don't retrace it was jailbroke), will it be in 3.1.3? If so will I still be able to re-jailbreak it?

    Thanks,
    Bulbuzor the greeny pokemon

    if they can repair it quickly they will, or they'll give a refurbished one that is likely on 3.1.3, no jailbreak, and i dont think downgrading with 2g firmware will work

    If you saved your SHSH in Cydia, if you get the same iPod back, you can downgrade. If you didn't, then too bad for you. Restore and send away. If you get a new one, it's the luck of the draw. If they still have 3.1.2 in stock, then they will ship that. If not, too bad, wait a little.

    Check the serial number Kayla248.

    As for OP: You can downgrade ANY 8gb MC model, so even if you get a refurbished one, you can just downgrade it and you will be good to go.

    I received it when they were still shipping away 3.1.2 on MC

    If I receive an old one will it be about as good as mine right now or it's gonna be crap (is it possible to get a messed iPod (older, used, etc))?

    @Kayal: Serial number, if it's MC it's 3d and MB 2d

    Why wouldn't you be allowed to jailbreak a third gen? The only difference is that it's tethered.
