I have an iPod touch 2G (MB model if it makes any difference) with 4.0 firmware, and I'd love to be able to jailbreak it, but my power button has been broken for months now. I called Apple regarding the issue, and the best they could do is have me trade in my iPod with another one for $150 :/. So without my power button, I can't enter DFU mode and I can't jailbreak it. I tried following this tutorial but it apparently only works for 3.x because iTunes (9.2) doesn't let me use my modified 4.0 ipsw, giving an unknown error after verifying the software. So what can I do to jailbreak it? Oh also, if it means anything, my power button is broken in a way that my iPod thinks my power button is continuously held down.

best thing to do is wait for the spirit jailbreak if its like the last jailbreak then itll jsut make u press one button and it will jailbreak the whole thing for you there will be no need to enter DFU mode and all. id jsut let time pass and see what happens
