    Hi

I was messing around with the files of the Mail.app (in /var/stash/Applications.*), and I was only messing around with the Main.plist in /English.lproj. I change one line of the .plist. and now mail does not work. So I replaced it with the French version (I know one or two french words, but I know Mail by image mostly) and it worked. But I came home and looked for another copy of Mail.app on the internet. I found 2, overwrote the originals (I was being an idiot—nothing new) and now it just does not work at all.

I was wondering if anyone could share their Mail file. Or tell me how to fix it.

Don't tell me to restore. I hate doing it.

    Thanks.

That's against the rules of this forum as it violates Apple copyright on their work. That would be the same as posting a cracked app store application. Sorry, but we can't.

Make sure the permissions are correct. Not sure what they should be but you can find out by looking at the other default apps.

I made sure the permissions were correct already.

And can I have someones' Mail.app, but with hue changes or something—making it technically custom.

    Still? Damn.

So is there any way to fix it? Maybe extract a new version of it from a LEGAL ipsw?

I doubt that will work, as that is just the simplified way of doing what was said above.

couldn't hurt to try. The description reads that one of the symptoms of needing to run it is Mail.app crashing.. It could help, otherwise you will need to A) Live without the mail app.. or B) Restore..

Yeah, I restored a week or 2 ago. Which was a pain—it means I have to allocate an evening to getting everything back to my iPod...

And it seems ridiculous to do it just for the mail app. I will make it my next thing I do though if I can't find a solution.
