    Ok, so I got a 3rd generation iPod touch 32GB with a broken lock button. Apple has offered to replace it with a refurb. How are Apple's refurbished products? Does the refurb have a warranty on it? Is it really worth trading in?

    I don't know the quality of Apple's refurbs, so I was wondering if some of you guys in iPTF had any suggestions or reviews of refurbs made by Apple

    Refurbished products are either : 1.Products with minor defects like scratches.(or just an unsealed box

    )
    2.Products that are displayed in the store, that are tested and than repacked as refurbished.

    No, referbs can also be people who returned the iPod and apple just added a new outside shell. So the only old thing will be the inside.

    Also the referb will have a brand new warrenty

    Yes, you will get a 1 year warranty on it. And if you don't mind potential loss of a Jailbreak, then feel free get a refurb.

    I had mine replaced, came with 3.1.3.
    In fact that was my plan all along, I guess I could say I "accidentally" upgraded my replacement iPod touch, to 4.0, to try it out, turns out my SHSH blob wasn't working.

    I decided to try and take it in, because infact, the screen could be pushed into the bezel, so I brought that up, and they just replaced it, no questions asked, received a 3.1.3 Refurb in return.

    As far as refurbs, they shouldn't have ANY scratches, at all, since it's an entire new shell..
