broken ipod

    broken ipod(flashing grey screen and won't go into DFU)

    yo help, when i was jailbreaking my ipod it failed and now its stuck at a flashing grey screen when the ipod boots up, it won't go into DFU, when i hold the buttons for a reset it blinks off for a second and goes back to the flashing screen, and when i plug it in it isn't detected by my computer in any way, what happens when the battery dies??? this only happend 10 minutes ago but what if it won't charge

    yes, it restored but didn't boot at that point

    i hope someone can help me!!:'(

    Try to time this exactly hold power for 7 seconds. Then hold home and power for 7 seconds. Then keep holding home for another 7 seconds and it should recognize.

    Ouch. Which tutorial did you use?? I would probably go the GUI route with cywood.

    i used this tutorial, http://www.ifans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=137796

    and i canot put it into DFU mode it just resets and goes back to the blinking screen in 1 second, i was holding the correct buttons, i have put it into DFU mode before, but now it doesn't go into DFU mode

    have itunes open when you do this.

    Plug into pc (which btw.. it IS charging while its plugged in)
    open itunes
    press and hole power/home till you either hear a ding or see a popup stating unrecognized (or something)
    then let go of the power and continue holding home till you hear another ding.

    let go
    itunes will tell you there is a problem. Click ok, you are in DFU

    i am aware of how to get into DFU mode, but my point is that it only flashes a grey screen really fast, and my PC doesn't detect it, itunes doesn't either
