Last night I picked up my ipod touch (16gig-1st gen) and pushed the home button and nothing happened... I know this is a problem with 1st gen ipods.
I bought my ipod from best buy a little over a year ago, it was a returned item and I didn't get a warranty. What now?

Have you tried pressing the power button?

jailbreak and use sbsettings to close apps until you get a new one

Wow, thanks for responding so fast!

Yeah, the power button works fine, but I don't like having to restart my ipod every time I want to change apps.

Im sure the sbsettings idea would work, but I'd really rather have a working home button. Also, I don't have any Apple Stores ANYWHERE near my house. Would apple replace/fix it?

It would be easier and cheaper just to invest your money in a new ipod...the price of repair is probably close to the resale value
