broken home button on first gen. ipod

    my home button the other day stop working all together, its not under any warranty or anything so i dont how to fix it. i was wonder if anyone knew i quick fix or will i have to pull my ipod and fix it.

    you could buy a new ipod, get apple to fix (almost as much as a new ipod), buy a warranty repair thing

    Usually this happens when water goes underneath the home button. if you have sbsettings you can just kill the app you are in to return to the spring board.

    well do u think theres anyway to take it apart and just fix it yourself

    bad idea man its proly not fixable after u get water on it ...unless u replace the part or somthing

    I have the same problem, and it seems to me that SBSettings is the perfect solution, except I don't see it in Cydia or Installer. Am I missing something? I have a jailbroken 1st gen

    I use rock and SBSettings shows up fine in there. That's what I would use if my home button broke but.. Quitting games and other fullscreen apps where you can't see the status bar is gonna be a b*tch lol. I would also suggest getting backgrounder and ProSwitcher and enable the option to use the power button to open pro switcher so that you can use the one other button on your touch to be able to close out apps quickly
